GLOBAL INDIA SCIENCE OLYMPIAD

GISO

The Science Olympiad is a team-based competition that tests students’ knowledge and skills in various scientific disciplines. It is widely recognized in the U.S. and other countries, offering opportunities for students from elementary to high school to engage in hands-on, inquiry-based activities.

Competitions are organized into multiple events that cover a wide range of scientific fields, such as:

Biology (e.g., anatomy, ecology)

Chemistry (e.g., forensics, water quality)

Physics (e.g., simple machines, circuit lab)

Earth Science (e.g., meteorology, astronomy)

Engineering (e.g., bridge building, towers)

Technology (e.g., coding, robotics)

Teams compete in regional, state, and national tournaments, with each event requiring students to either complete written tests, conduct experiments, or build devices. Some events are more knowledge-based, while others are hands-on engineering challenges.

The goals of Science Olympiad include fostering a passion for science, encouraging teamwork, and helping students develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills in a competitive yet collaborative environment
