The Math Olympiad refers to a series of prestigious mathematics competitions held at various levels, including national and international, to challenge students’ problem-solving skills and mathematical creativity. The most well-known of these is the Global lndia Math Olympiad (GIMO), an annual competition where high school students from different countries compete by solving challenging mathematical problems. There are also national and regional Math Olympiads, such as the United States of America Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO), Asian Pacific Mathematical Olympiad (APMO), and others.
Participants usually prepare for these contests through extensive training and practice in advanced topics of mathematics, such as number theory, algebra, geometry, and combinatorics. Math Olympiads encourage deep mathematical thinking, creativity, and logical problem-solving.
